Northeast Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ campus closed today due to early morning fire
AUSTIN, Texas—The Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ Independent School District has released a statement about a fire at Walnut Creek Elementary School:
As reported earlier, Walnut Creek Elementary School experienced a fire in one of its classrooms early this morning. The fire was contained to the 100 (prekindergarten) wing, but the damage from smoke necessitated the cancelation of all classes today.
All students at Walnut Creek are with their parents or other caretakers and safe at this time. The school’s administration and faculty members are meeting this afternoon to plan for tomorrow’s instruction and student support.
We would like to thank and commend our community for reporting the fire and AISD staff members and the Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ Fire Department for their swift and professional response.
